In a dramatic plenary sitting on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, officially confirmed that fraudsters are systematically exploiting the Orange Mobile Network to perpetrate scams against Sierra Leoneans.

Speaker Thomas was unequivocal in his remarks, stating that no other telecommunications provider has been linked to the criminal activities.

“The criminals are using the Orange Mobile Network, they are not using any other mobile network but Orange Mobile Network,” he declared.

“Something must be wrong with the employees at Orange Sierra Leone,” he said, urging a thorough investigation into potential insider assistance.
